Dow Ends Force Majeure for Ethyleneamines

Midland, MI - January 17, 2006

The Dow Chemical Company ("Dow") announced today that, effective January 16, 2006, it will end force majeure for Ethyleneamines. The company declared force majeure on August 31, 2005, due to disruptions to transportation logistics and raw material and energy supply constraints related to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

"While manufacturing operations recovered quickly following Hurricane Katrina, logistical issues remained until the end of 2005," says John Maniscalo, marketing manager, Dow Ethyleneamines.  "Going forward, we expect to supply our customers as usual, subject to typical lead time and availability constraints. However, some export shipments may be slowed due to ongoing container shortages."
